Register Today for the Boston-area Treatment Providers Workshop

There are still a few spots available for the upcoming workshop for treatment providers titled “Post-traumatic Stress Disorder and Problem Gambling.” Lisa Najavits, Ph.D., professor of psychiatry at Boston University School of Medicine, will lead this training on July 26 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Back Bay Hotel, Joyce Room, in Boston, Mass. All clinicians and researchers in the area are encouraged to attend this free event that has been approved for 1.5 hours of continuing education units. The National Center for Responsible Gaming (NCRG) and the Massachusetts Council on Compulsive Gambling are co-sponsoring this event.

“Crash Course” Webinar on Gambling Disorders for Addiction Counselors Now Available for Online Viewing

The National Center for Responsible Gaming (NCRG) presented the first installment of the 2011 NCRG Webinar Series to more than 250 participants in March – one of the highest attended sessions for the NCRG. Reminder: Webinar on Self-Exclusion Scheduled for August 16th!

As part of its 2010 Webinar Series, the National Center for Responsible Gaming will hold its next live, free webinar titled “Regulating Interventions for Disordered Gambling: What New Research Says about the Safety, Effectiveness and Logistics of Self-Exclusion Programs,” this Monday, Aug. 16, 2010, from 2 – 3 p.m. (EDT). The NCRG Webinar Series provides convenient educational opportunities at your desktop for learning about critical issues related to gambling disorders and responsible gaming. Participants in the one-hour program will earn one continuing education unit approved by NAADAC, the Association for Addiction Professionals, the California Foundation for Advancement of Addiction Professionals (CFAAP) and the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
